Hi!  My name is Dawn Huberty,

I am the founder of WIRED4LIFE.

I was first diagnosed with 3rd degree heart block with syncope at the age of 26.  I had endured chronic fainting spells my entire life, undiagnosed until October 10, 1991.

In 2004 I received my second implant with one lead replacement and in 2005 I underwent surgery to repair a hole in my heart.   It was shortly prior to my second implant that I decided to start a support group for women with pacemakers.

WIRED4LIFE began in 2004, first with meetings on a local level and then progressing to an exclusive online group.  Many of our members have traveled to meet each other in person, referring to their newfound relations as "sisters,' and sisters -- we are; indeed!  Wired sisters!  In 2009, we gathered for our first conference; women from across the globe took part in this monumental event.

We currently have over 150 members,  the majority of the members do participate online by chatting with each other, posting messages and photos, reading newsletters, building relationships.

We learn, ask and answer questions, explore new ideas, practice spirituality, healing.
We incorporate humor into our daily life.
We encourage and support one another to become the best wired women possible!

If this sounds like a place you’d like to explore and be a part of; we are and always will be:  WIRED4LIFE!

There can be no situation in life in which the conversation of my dear sister will not administer some comfort to me.  ~Mary Montagu
