Board of Directors
Sterling Brazier, Treasurer
I grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, I’ve lived in the Midwest my entire life; except for a year in Cleveland , Ohio!
I now reside in River Falls, Wisconsin, where I live with my wife and two children, we have been here since 1996.
My career has been in the hospitality field; primarily restaurants and hotels!
I am hoping that my business background will be helpful to WIRED4LIFE.
I am excited to have the opportunity to be able to help others, as I feel I have been very fortunate in my life!
Janelle Taylor, Secretary
I was born in Florida and grew up in Norfolk, Virginia. Met my husband when he was in the Navy and moved to Minnesota in 1969. We have 3 children, 1 son-in-law and 2 grandchildren. I have a home daycare business for 29 years. Before that I worked 9 years for General Mills.
When I first heard the doctor mention a pacemaker, my thoughts were that ‘this is the end.’ I asked if this was forever and he said yes. I believe there is a period of adjustment which is an understatement but so true. I remember a book I read about breast cancer called “First You Cry”. Yes, that is true here. There were no support groups and no one that I personally knew with a pacemaker to talk to. The medical personnel were very calm about it saying it was routine. I will say that two of my clients at that time were in the medical field and were not concerned at all for me to continue caring for their children which I found reassuring.
Looking online I couldn't find any support groups just for women so was thrilled when Dawn created this group.
I am proud to be a member of this group, and also sit on the board!
Laurie Eneanya, Vice Chair
Hello!
I am 41 yrs old. I was born and raised in Minnesota. I a divorced mother of 2 boys. I work full time as an L.P.N in a long term care facility.
I have experience with pacemakers and believe it is a wonderful thing to have a support group for this.
It is a life changing event to have a pacemaker ,
and with more and more people using the internet; having the support at your fingertips is a plus and so helpful to many people who otherwise would not have the ability to attend a group. As a nurse I give advice to patients and many family members on what to avoid and so on.
I am excited to be a part of this group as a board member!
